Chris Pappas::Late Night Underground
January 28, 2012 12:16 PM PST
Back when Frankie Knuckles and the Original Hot Mix Five were mixing live on the radio...moons ago..Chris Pappas was intrigued...enough to invest in gear and records. Hitting up the nightlife in Chicago, Chris was treated to such a diverse scene. His first official DJ gig was a closet-sized booth/no dancing allowed...Here he was able to fine tune and hone his performing skills. Later, he met a friend who brought him to the largest gay attraction of the Midwest, formerly named The Douglas Dunes Resort, and now called The Dunes. The Dunes is set in the beautiful West Michigan area. This experience gave Chris the chance to thrill visitors from all around the globe, although most of the party people hailed from Chicago. After his residency, he found a new audience through radio at Western Michigan University's student run station WIDR FM. Be held the longest record for hosting an electronic dance show injected with global grooves and a variety of styles of dance genres as well.

James Anthony’s love for DJ’ing and dance music culture goes back as far as his memory allows. This dynamic, international DJ and remixer has shown a tremendous affinity for music from an extremely young age, and has spent a better part of his life bringing it to the masses. James got his first big break working in radio- at the legendary dance station WKTU in New York City. Within weeks of being hired, at the young age of 21, he quickly became the youngest mixshow DJ on New York radio. His hugely popular “Freestyle Free For All” and “Free Ride at 5” mixshows, running concurrently since 2003, have been mainstays to millions of radio listeners. Much like his live performances, James’ remixers have been hailed as peak hour staples- producing tracks for some of dance music’s biggest divas, such as Reina “Find Another Woman”, Judy Torres “No Reason To Cry”, Kathy Brown “Feel The Music”, “Tell Me” and Amannda “The Only One”. His popular podcast, featuring his live sets from around the globe, earned him a JustCircuit.com award for “Best DJ Podcast” in 2010.
